RECENT VIDEO RELEASES (click cover in this column to be taken to a retailer selling this title) Missing: This overlooked, Oscar-worthy film has finally been released on DVD in the USA, and now many other territories around the world are getting a chance to revisit this great film, presented in anamorphic widescreen for the first time ever. The Vangelis score is very subtle in this thought-provoking movie. An essential film, regardless if you are a fan of Vangelis! Released by Universal De Nuremberg A Nuremberg: This Vangelis-scored Frederic Rossif documentary from 1989 has finally been released on DVD in France. This is the 3 hour edited version, which includes 2 supplimental DVDs of interviews with historians and an additional documentary (not done by Rossif) about concentration camp survivors. In French, PAL, region 2, released by Editions Montparnasse. Bitter Moon: Now there is a Region 1 release of this wonderful movie, no doubt released to capitalize on Polanski winning the Oscar in 2003. That is good for us! Sorry though, it is still just a Dolby 2.0 mix, but hey, whose complaining?!  Released by New Line Home Entertainment. Adriaan Ditvoorst Box: Needless to say, this title may not appeal to some because of the price to obtain one film (the 7 DVD set is around 65 euros). However, this may be the only chance to see the film De Mantel der Liefde, which is included in this box set. This little-known film from 1978 uses as its soundtrack the Vangelis album "Heaven and Hell". Indeed, there was even a soundtrack LP released with cover art specific to this movie in Holland, a rare find itself. Few outside of Holland have ever seen this film. I was fascinated to hear it would be released on DVD, and it gives me hope that other long-lost titles with Vangelis music will someday also be released on the DVD format.
