An Oscar winning film. An Oscar winning score. If you have not seen this movie, I would be in total shock. Did you know there is a difference between the USA version and most all others? In the USA version, there is a scene in the beginning in which two war-injured men help Ben Cross into a taxi. This scene is not in other versions. However, in those other versions, in the beginning, there is a scene where the future Olympians are playing a game of cricket (I think that is the game) inside a very large room. I just love variations! For the longest time, this film was only available in the pan and scan version (1.33:1), which was truly disappointing, given the status of the film. But with DVD, it has finally been released in an anamorphic 16:9 presentation. It looks great on a widescreen television.
