VANGELIS Our Love Sleeps on the Waters/The Clock

"Our Love Sleeps on the Waters/The Clock" qualifies as the first Vangelis "solo" record mainly due to the fact that his name appears first and foremost, although we know for a fact that "Vangelis Papathanassiou and his Group" are in actuality Aphrodite's Child (with Silver Koulouris) before they left Greece, and before they were even known as Aphrodite's Child. The original 7" single item is a Greek-only record and is quite rare. Only a few collectors own this, although I have noticed that more have shown up for auction at ebay. The recordings are actually instrumental versions of tracks Vangelis recorded with fellow Greek singer George Romanos. In addition to the normal black vinyl version, there is an even rarer version with a splatter-coloured design. Some Greek dealers have suggested that less than 100 copies of that style exist.
