If Soil Festivities was not enough to push Polydor over the edge, this choral album form 1985 probably did the trick. Perhaps that is why they moved Vangelis over to Deutsche Grammaphon after this album. The album is a treasure, but far reomved from the nice melody of "Chariots of Fire" and the pop sensibilities of his work with Jon Anderson. The second coming of Wagner! Movement 1 is so powerful. Vangelis music is a natural for accompaniment by choir. He has worked with choirs for years. Besides the album with Irene Papas, this would serve as one of his last studio albums for Polydor. Polydor did not try to promote this album at all, and offered no singles! No rarities to track down other than the Japanese CDs.
