VANGELIS The City

As a collector, I was worried when this album came out in 1990 and east west did not release any singles to promote it, and no interesting promotional materials either (only one US promo CD single). There was no USA LP release. Things looked bleak. Then came 1492...And it is not really fair to this excellent album. After Direct, I did not know what to expect. This album really captures the mood of a city day, albeit a European city day. It was rumoured that east west was going to issue a second release of this album with an additional track, but it never came to be. At least there were a few LPs released of this in certain countries. Their days would be numbered. [Thanks to Roland Weißflog for the scans of the Colombian LP and the Argentina stamped promo LP!]
