VANGELIS Chariots of Fire

While it is certainly debatable as to whether this is Vangelis' crowning achievement, Chariots of Fire (1981) was a defining moment in time for Vangelis. He became a household name all around the world on the strength of the main theme for this album, for which he won an Oscar. There is a lot to say about this album from a collector's standpoint. It has everything a collector wants...promos, singles, worldwide releases, cover variations. Many countries made small custom stickers to place on the sleeve after Vangelis won the Oscar. The single enjoyed success in numerous countries. Tracking them all down is a difficult task.
