VANGELIS Blade Runner Trilogy - 25th Anniversary

At the end of 2007, the world received a special gift from Vangelis.  There were rumors leading up to the release, and the time seemed ripe for this.  Ridley Scott and Warner Home Video had finally completed work on the definitive DVD release of the classic film Blade Runner with no less than 5 different versions of the film available! And so to coincide with this event, Vangelis released a 3 disc CD set titled Blade Runner Trilogy, 25th Anniversary.  Now, Universal Music got a little excited out of the gate and the early press material suggested that ALL the unreleased cues would be here.  We now know that is not true, although there are several heard here for the very first time.  What we do have is this: Disc 1-the 1994 edition released by east west; Disc 2-previously unreleased cues; Disc 3-entirely new music created by Vangelis and inspired by Blade Runner! The first time Vangelis has released a triple disc set, and it is a winner.  The set has sold quite well for a soundtrack that is 25 years old!
