After finishing up La Fete Sauvage, Vangelis prepared Albedo 0.39 for release in 1976. The album had a space theme, and is certainly one of the more popular albums by Vangelis, especially from fans of the Cosmos series. RCA seemed to realize that there was a single to promote here, and they focused on "Pulstar" as the lead single. Vangelis planned on a one-off concert to promote the album, but it ended up being cancelled. Value of the LP is fairly low ($8), and there are no significant rarities that have been released in conjunction with this album, although it is much more fun to focus on finding the singles from the various countries and collecting them. I have also said before that this is not my favorite Vangelis album. Neucleogenesis is absolutely wonderful, as is the title track.
