George Theodosiadis has the distinction of being one of the first Greeks to record with Vangelis. The recordings he did with Vangelis are from 1964, 20 songs of lounge music, covering standards such as "The Girl from Ipanema", "Mambo With Me" and "Peter Gun", all found on the album TO SUGKROTHMA TOU GIWRGOU QEODOSIADH. Vangelis played the vibrophone as part of an eight-piece band, with Mr. Theodosiadis as the leader, known collectively as George Theodosiadis and The Jazzz Orchestra. The Vangelis-collecting community knew nothing of these recordings until they surfaced on CD in 1998, with surprisingly good sound quality, but now (sadly) out of print. If you have any knowledge of original vinyl releases of this music from the 60s, please write me! The record company, Legend, also released three various artists CDs, spreading out the tracks from the main album across these various artists CDs. In 2002, a new recording was released, a soundtrack to the Greek film Man For All the Doings in which Vangelis also appears to play on one track, "Espial Corridor". This release came from Potfleur out of Athens. In 2008, Legend once again released these 20 songs as part of their "El Capitan" series of recordings from that great era.
