When Vangelis was still in Greece during the 60s, he worked with some singers that loved to sing Italian hits. The Italians liked him too, when he became known to them through his work with Aphrodite's Child. Vangelis had a great recording period with several Italian singers during the 70s and into the 80s, and the reknown Patty Pravo was one of those singers, still very popular in Italy to this day. In 1969, she did a cover version of the Aphrodite's Child song "End of the World" sung in Italian - "Sola In Capo Al Mondo", on her Concerto Per Patty album (more like a mini-album, only 31 minutes long). She is most associated with Vangelis for her 1976 album Tanto, which he arranged and performs on. Vangelis even brought along Guy Protheroe and the English Chamber Choir to help out on three of the tracks. The cover version of the ELO track "Evil Woman (E Io Cammino)"...it is just strange to hear Vangelis playing an ELO tune! Some nice disco stuff on this album! On her next album, simply titled Patty Pravo (1977), Patty offers her cover version of Vangelis' (and Jon Anderson's) "So Long Ago, So Clear (Sconosciuti Cieli)". In addition to that, she also covers three songs off the album "Phos" by Socrates, in which Vangelis was a guest member of for that album [in case you wanted to know, the songs are "Starvation (La Mela In Tasca)", "A Day In Heaven (Jmanja)" and "Queen of the Universe (Piramidi Di Vetro)"]. Now, a word to collectors. We have to compete with some serious Italian collectors for Patty Pravo stuff, especially the old LPs, so the vinyl from Italy is not found cheaply.
