Who/Sad Face UK 7" inner labelHow many pseudonyms can one person have? It is no wonder Vangelis has openly expressed his disdain for record companies. He apparently had to release some of his recordings through various labels, perhaps due to contract issues. Although for this record released under his middle name, Vangelis could have been considered "between contracts". The year is 1974, and Vangelis had already released "Earth" in 1973. His vocalist for that album, Robert Fitoussi, must have hung around for a while, and sings on the A-side of this 7", titled "Who/Sad Face". "Who" actually would see release later for two other Vangelis projects. In 1977, Chrisma covered the track, retitled "U". Demis Roussos also covered it in 1977, retitled "I Dig You". Incidently, Robert Fitoussi would later go onto fame as FR David. The single is rare, but can be found at a decent price if you look hard enough.
