Did you know that Vicky and Vangelis share the same last name? At birth, Vicky is a Papathanassiou, although it does not appear they are related. Vangelis was good enough to write a song for this famous singer. Whenever I think of Vicky, I think of a Eurovision Song Contest. Anyways, the song Vangelis co-wrote for her, "Adler und Taube", was performed by her (Vangelis does not play) on her Vicky album (1983). She later recorded a French version the next year, "La colombe et L'aigle", again on an album titled Vicky. The French version is shorter, clocking in at 4:49. The German-language version is 5:35. The arrangement and performance is different between the two, so collectors need to find them both. I love these songs, but sadly, they have not seen release on CD yet. The LPs are not so easy to find, either.
