In 1986, Suzanne Ciani released a break-out album of adult contemporary instrumental music called The Velocity of Love. This NYC prodigy hit a chord with listeners, and this launched her impressive career, as she continues to record to this day (check out her web page here). Unknown to most in the world, Vangelis played on this album. Upon initial release, his name was excluded from the credits, perhaps due to contract issues. It was not until the album was re-released in 1991 that the world could confirm Vangelis' participation. He played on three tracks: "Lay Down Beside Me", "Malibuzios" and "History of My Heart". His performance is very subtle, which had people guessing if it was really him during those uncredited years, when it was just a rumour regarding his performance. Interesting to note that Vangelis worked on Milva's Tra Due Sogni album a bit in Ciani's NYC studio. Interesting also to note that the CD release of this, easily found in the United States, is much harder to track down in most other countries, even though she is widely known.
