Yet another amazing discovery that I search for several years to find, with no success! The name "Helen Banks" appears on that wonderful Spheric BV (Vangelis' publisher) songlist that has floated around amongst collectors for years, but nobody could seem to find it! I personally was thrown off by the sub-publishing agreement for RCA-Italy, thinking that she must have this single release there. And so, Robert Eichelsheim has finally located a copy of this single (not only one version, but two!) in France! Recorded in 1973, this is another one of those bizarre gems that Vangelis cranked out during the years of '73-'74. A beautiful woman, she sings along to instrumentation provided by Vangelis and others! His name is not mentioned though, so nobody knew all these years that he would even be connected. The only way was this great songlist from Spheric BV. And the good news is that there are several other songs on that list that researchers like Robert are searching for! And some time later, during some research, Sufian picked up a second Helen Banks single titled "Starlight/Very Deep, Very Dark". This single is not mentioned at all in the Spheric list. I have finally found it and would say that Vangelis is most likely involved but minimally. The percussion definitely sounds as if it were Vangelis-unusual.
