APHRODITE'S CHILD End of the World/Rain and Tears

The year is 1968, and three young Greeks arrived in France on their way to England: Vangelis Papathanassiou, Demis Roussos and Lukas Sideras. They never made it to England that year, but instead stayed in Paris and became huge pop stars throughout Europe. As will be discovered with their first two albums, the singles were numerous, and the various countries issued different picture sleeve designs, much to the delight of collectors everywhere. The first album, End of the World/Rain and Tears, offers a mixture of pure pop, psych overtones and clever lyrics, all with a Greek flair. The original LP is not easy to find from any country, but easier to find from the UK and France. There are only two officially released CDs from Greece and Japan. If you're looking to buy it, I would suggest getting it from Greek Music & Video Superstore (in the USA) or Trehantiri (in the UK).
