I often wondered if Polydor USA was angry at Vangelis for his refusal to release Blade Runner in 1982, and decided to do no promotion of this 1983 album. While Private Collection generated singles in other countries, there were no single releases at all in the USA, not even on the promotional level. On the other hand, there was the non-album B-side released in other countries, "Song Is." And what an epic we get in "Horizon"! The song is incredible, the last track from the very spiritual Private Collection. I have also wondered about the artwork featured on the cover, and have found it to be quite perplexing. [Thanks to Roland Weißflog for the scan of the Irish LP, the "He Is Sailing 7" from Ireland and the "Deborah" single from the Philippines].
